Eagles casually might’ve won UDFA signings too after acing NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles nailed their UDFA signings, in addition to cleaning up during the 2023 NFL Draft.

The NFC is pretty much the Philadelphia Eagles, and everybody else at this point going forward.

Although they could conceivably suffer from the proverbial Super Bowl hangover, it is hard to envision that happening with how well general manager Howie Roseman aced the 2023 NFL Draft. He was more into Dawgs than Kirby Smart, which I didn’t think was possible, let alone for a former Florida Gator to feel this way. Regardless, he should be commended for his UDFA signings.

With notable college players such as Alabama cornerback Eli Ricks, Arkansas wide receiver Jadon Haselwood and Clemson wide receiver Joseph Ngata all signing with the team, this 53-man roster in Philadelphia is going to be packed to the gills. Though not all of their UDFA signings will end up making the team, expect at least a few of them to challenge for roster spots during fall camp.

The best keep getting better, so if you root for one of the other 15 NFC teams like I do, I feel you…

Philadelphia Eagles crush their UDFA signings after acing 2023 NFL Draft picks

There are several reasons why the Eagles are one of the better-run operations across the NFL. It starts with ownership, as Jeffrey Lurie has been a gold standard in that department since buying the team back in 1994. Not enough good things can be said about Roseman. While Philadelphia has been hit-or-miss in the coaching department, Nick Sirianni fits the team’s and city’s ethos.

I think what propels the Eagles to great heights is they are unified from top to bottom. A lot of NFL franchises can say that they are, but are they really? Most of the time, they are blowing smoke up your ass, hoping you don’t really challenge them on questionable decisions they have made. But when it comes to the Eagles, they make more smart decisions than most and tend to fail very fast.

Not to say Haselwood, Ngata, Ricks or any of their other undrafted free agents will change the game in Philadelphia, but the culture the franchise has in place will attempt to bring the best out in them. If you are willing to compete, the Eagles are a fantastic place to play. If you feel entitled, you will be eaten alive and devoured by the rest of the league like Carson Wentz was not that long ago.

Anything short of a return trip to the NFC Championship game for the Eagles will be disappointing.
