Karlie Kloss Has the Classiest Pregnancy Reveal at the 2023 Met Gala

Congratulations are in order for Karlie Kloss, as the supermodel revealed on the 2023 Met Gala carpet that she is expecting her second child.

Kloss walked up the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight in a black floor-length gown by Loewe featuring long sleeves and a yellow print that mimicked the shadow of her white pearl necklaces and belt—the latter of which hugged her baby bump. She also wore white pearl-and-diamond earrings and a diamond cluster ring.

“This is the first time I’m sharing my news,” she said of her pregnancy reveal on the red carpet.

Kloss kept it simple and chic with her beauty look: a slicked-back low ponytail, inky black eyeliner, rosy blush, a raspberry lip, and a French manicure.

Kloss’s pregnancy announcement comes after she and husband Joshua Kushner welcomed their first child, Levi, in March 2021. Kushner announced the news on Instagram, captioning a sweet photo of their baby: “Welcome to the world.”

The pair got married in an intimate ceremony in New York in October 2018. Their pregnancy news came shortly after they celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary.

Tonight’s Met Gala theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” pays homage to the life and legacy of the late Chanel creative director, who inspired the Met Museum’s newest installation. The exhibition at the Costume Institute will showcase about 150 of Lagerfeld’s designs, as well as some of his sketches, both of which “underscore his complex creative process and the collaborative relationships with his premières, or head seamstresses. Lagerfeld’s fluid lines united his designs for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld, creating a diverse and prolific body of work unparalleled in the history of fashion,” per the museum.
