Tyler Lockett’s company is now the official realtor of Tyler Lockett’s team
Seahawks star Tyler Lockett’s company just became the official sponsor of his NFL team.
Seattle Seahawks’ Tyler Lockett may have just made an interesting bit of history: his company, LivNServe Real Estate, recently became the official sponsor of the Seahawks.
The 2015 third-round pick by the Seahawks is clearly putting his roots in Seattle with the latest news, as Lockett seems to plan on staying with the team for the long haul.
Lockett has posted 1,000-plus receiving yard seasons in each of the last four years and remains a mainstay in the Seahawks’ passing offense, one that was revitalized by quarterback Geno Smith last year.
It’s not uncommon for NFL players to pursue other ventures outside of the league, but seeing a player link his own company to his team feels….shady in some respects.
Tyler Lockett’s real estate company becomes Seahawks official sponsor
It doesn’t seem like the league is currently too concerned about the situation, and there’s no evidence of foul play.
On one hand, Seattle could have made Lockett’s company its official sponsor to circumvent salary cap restrictions, and doing so could set an undesirable precedent for the future. For example, instead of giving a player a signing bonus, a team may instead accept a sponsorship deal from that player’s company.
Everything appears on the books for the Seahawks this offseason, and Seattle may simply be establishing stronger connections to Lockett and making their bond stronger.
Over the past eight years, Lockett has turned into an uber-reliable weapon despite the Seahawks’ perennial reliance on the run game. He and D.K. Metcalf should enjoy more success in 2023 assuming Smith doesn’t experience a decline — if the Seahawks win, Tyler Lockett’s company wins, and Lockett himself profits as well.
It’s a win-win-win.
