Meghan Markle Shows Her Take on Hiking Attire in Rare Photographed Outing After King Charles’ Coronation
Meghan Markle was far from England during King Charles’ coronation weekend, but what’s more remarkable is that paparazzi actually got a photo of the Duchess of Sussex out and about—on a mountain, no less. She was photographed hiking for 40 minutes on Sunday morning with her friends Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak. Nature is healing, after all.
The photo agency noted that Meghan was a short distance from her Montecito, California, home, and Harry, who flew back to California immediately after Saturday’s coronation ceremony, was not with her. Still, Meghan appeared to be in good spirits, outfitted in Victoria Beckham sunglasses, a J.Crew jacket, black leggings, a black tank top, a straw hat, a pink scarf, and blue socks with brown hiking boots.
Meghan was last photographed out with Harry on April 24 at an NBA game, marking the couple’s most public date in quite some time. The duchess wore a pink two-piece set then:
On the day of Charles’ coronation itself, multiple outlets reported that Meghan threw her son Archie a small birthday party with family and friends. The coronation, of course, was on Archie’s 4th birthday, part of the reason Harry rushed home.
But Archie’s birthday isn’t the only thing that kept Meghan from attending. Royal reporter Omid Scobie explained that she intended to not cause drama during his appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Wednesday.
Scobie explained, “People around the Sussexes guided press at the time that this was very much about Archie’s fourth birthday. I disagree with that to some extent because I also know from friends of hers that she’s protecting her peace as well. She is aware of how much of the spotlight goes on her when she sets even a foot near the story. And I think a lot of that, although it’s often portrayed as intentional that she wants to steal the spotlight, but in this case, [if] she had simply come over and stood next to her husband, I would imagine the commentary and the narrative on the day would be very different for the days to follow.”
