Green Bay may never get to host a Super Bowl, but was just awarded next-best thing

The Green Bay Packers will probably not get to host a Super Bowl, barring the sinful suggestion of building a new stadium.

Unfortunately, though the NFL has been bold enough to allow the Super Bowl to be played in a cold, outdoor climate previously, the Green Bay area is almost guaranteed to not get its shot to host the big game. That is, unless a new, domed stadium were to ever be built, but with massive renovations on Lambeau Field’s jumbotron this offseason, that feels extremely unlikely.

New York in February is one thing, Northern Wisconsin is a completely different thing.

So, while Titletown and the Packers won’t get to actually host a league title game, they are getting what some would argue is the next best thing: The NFL Draft.

2025 NFL Draft will be hosted by Green Bay Packers

The NFL announced on Monday that Green Bay, Lambeau Field, and the Titletown district will be the host site of the 2025 NFL Draft. Green Bay has never hosted the draft, and now joins a list of 12 other cities that have hosted the draft.

It’s not the first time the draft has stepped foot in Wisconsin, though, the 1940 NFL Draft was held in Milwaukee. This will be the first time the event as we know it today — inside the Super Bowl era and televised — will happen in the state, though.

With Lambeau Field and the Packers known as a legacy franchise with plenty of history behind it, it should be a spectacular city that brings a unique vibe to the event, as has been the goal of the NFL’s touring circus style of the festivities over the last several years.

While other destinations have been more traditionally touristy destinations like Las Vegas and Nashville, there’s plenty of good stuff for fans to enjoy in the region.

Crack open the Spotted Cows and get some cheese curds, the NFL Draft is on its way in a few years!
