Margot Robbie Wears All Barbie Pink As She Continues Press In Sydney
On Saturday, Margot Robbie left Sydney to continue her promotional tour for her new movie, Barbie. The star stayed on theme by wearing bright pink for her travel outfit as she headed to South Korea via the Australian city’s airport. On top was a Gucci sweatshirt paired with matching pants, part of the brand’s collab with Adidas.
She wore the casual pink look with a matching Chanel purse and pink Versace platform slides. Her blonde hair was down and her makeup palette looked natural and dewy despite the whirlwind schedule. She was joined by her husband Tom Ackerley at the terminal and stopped to chat and take selfies with fans.
The actress has been sticking with pink throughout her press tour and she looks fantastic in it. On Friday, she wore a sparkling, pale pink dress from the Versace FW94 Couture collection to the Barbie Celebration Party at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The dress had a structured corset-style bodice and a short flowing skirt.
Barbie‘s director Greta Gerwig also wore sparkles, donning a long gold gown by The Vampire’s Wife with a pair of black, pointed toe pumps.
Robbie’s co-star, Ryan Gosling, honored the pink theme while in Canada last week for a Barbie press day by wearing a bubblegum pink button down shirt under his blue suit. Gosling plays the Ken to Robbie’s Barbie. Though the film is based on the iconic Mattel dolls, Gerwig has fully expanded the Barbie universe.
In November of last year, Gerwig spoke with Dua Lipa on her At Your Service podcast about her “terror” she felt after agreeing to work on the project with Robbie.
“It was something that was exciting so I had that terror,” she said. “There’s something about starting from that place where it’s like, well, anything’s possible.”
Gerwig added, “I had what felt like vertigo when starting to write it, like, where do you even begin? What would be the story? I knew that it would be really interesting terror. Usually that’s where the best stuff is. Anything where I’m like this could be a career ender – I probably should do it.”
