Mum discovers no-scrubbing hack to clean tile grout after awkward spillage – The Mirror
If you’re sick of scrubbing away tirelessly at your floors to make them spick and span, one woman’s innocent mistake could be your relief as you can save lots of time with her hack
Tiled floors can be seriously tricky to upkeep, and if you're struggling for time, it means you won't be able to dedicate hours and hours to scrubbing away at them – because let's be honest, who wants to do that in this weather anyway?
Thankfully, one cleaning and organisation expert's mistake may be your salvation, as after a little accident, she realised that there was a much more efficient way of cleaning her tiles.
And what's more, you won't even have to get down on the floor and scrub away – just simply pour away.
In a video shared to TikTok, Azure MacCannel, from the US, explained how she discovered Healthier Home's Degreaser could clean the floor – as well as leave her oven sparkling.
Posting under the username @livecomposed, she explained: "I accidentally spilled this degreaser on my floor and discovered that it cleans my grout without even scrubbing."
Sounds like a win-win to us!
Azure filmed herself demonstrating the cleaning tip, instructing people to simply pour the degreaser on the floor, let it sit for a minute, and then wipe it away easily with a mop – without a scrub in sight.
She mentioned that you do need to dilute the product for other cleaning purposes.
Many of her followers were thrilled about her tip, with one stating that she won the cleaning side of TikTok.
Someone commented: "You know you're getting old when get excited about stuff like this."
"Fast food places add degreaser to their mops all the time. It works", another added.
An additional user suggested using OxiClean to clean grout.
If you have a lot of grout to clean, another TikToker wants to make sure you use the best mopping technique possible.
She then rings the mop out into the mop bucket – but dips it back into the clean mixture of soap and water.
"This way you're only using clean water to mop your floors", Tanya noted.
"This method is a much better alternative as you are not dipping in the dirty water … you are dipping in clean water each time you mop."
