Ariana Grande and Husband Dalton Gomez Separated Months Ago
Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez‘s marriage has quietly been concluding, multiple sources connected to the couple told TMZ. The couple privately separated since January. Grande’s relationship status drew attention yesterday when she was photographed at Wimbledon not wearing her wedding ring. People also confirmed that Grande and Gomez had separated. “[They] have been quietly and lovingly working on their friendship” since separating earlier this year, a source told People.
Entertainment Tonight also reported the split, with a source saying, “Ariana and Dalton’s friends have always been concerned by their whirlwind romance and felt their relationship would ultimately be short-lived. Their relationship has been rocky at different points, and they’ve had trouble making time for each other with scheduling issues.”
Sources told TMZ that Gomez and Grande tried to reconcile a few months back but the efforts failed. One source with direct knowledge told the outlet that Grande and Gomez, who got married on May 15, 2021 after dating for a little over a year, are “heading for divorce.”
Grande has been filming Wicked in the U.K. for the bulk of this year. TMZ’s sources told the outlet that the pair’s issues predate her going abroad to shoot the project. Grande and Gomez are amicable, though, with TMZ reporting it was informed that “they remain friends and still talk on the phone regularly, but, according to sources, the marriage is kaput.”
Grande has not commented on the reports about her relationship status. She just shared photos of herself at Wimbledon this morning instead, where she was seated next to her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey and Andrew Garfield.
Grande’s last Instagram with Gomez was posted at the end of November 2022. It’s worth noting that since starting Wicked, Grande has been posting much more infrequently on her Instagram and keeping a lower profile.
The last report on Grande and Gomez’s relationship came out in May, around their two-year wedding anniversary. A source told Us Weekly then that all was good between them, something that may not have been the case in reality based on TMZ’s report. “They still feel like they’re in the honeymoon phase,” Us‘ source said. “Many of Ariana’s past relationships have been in the spotlight, but she’s so grateful she’s married to someone who doesn’t care about that stuff. It’s really refreshing.”
