Dua Lipa’s Lavender String Bikini Is a Preppy Twist on Vacation Style

Dua Lipa is in a vacation state of mind. The singer and Barbie actress posted a series of photos from her seaside getaway on Instagram, captioning them simply: “calmmmmmm :*”

Within the summer vacation gallery, Lipa made sure to include a bikini shot, placing one in the middle of her Instagram carousel. She appears wearing a lavender printed string bikini with a matching, oversized purple button-up as her cover up. The preppy two-piece truly would fit right into Barbie Land; the film’s set purposely had a Palm Springs aesthetic.

This isn’t the only gallery Lipa has shared from her trip though. She also posted photos of herself in a red netted dress posing on rocks by the water, captioning it: “charging my crystals ✨”

She also dropped a more traditional bikini photo gallery over the weekend, writing in Albanian, “is it better here or there?”

Lipa opted not to geotag where she’s staying, an understandable choice to preserve her privacy. She was recently in Italy though, where she posted photos of herself in a slip dress getting gelato.

Lipa’s last public appearances have been in support of the Barbie movie, where she plays Mermaid Barbie and sang the movie’s lead single, “Dance the Night.” She attended both its Los Angeles and London premieres, though Barbie promotion stopped early due to the actors’ strike.

Lipa did give a nod to the film after its release when she shared a gallery of photos, including a cast mirror selfie from the Los Angeles premiere. “camera roll randoms 🫶🏻,” Lipa wrote.

She hasn’t been able to speak in depth about playing a mermaid in the movie due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which prohibits actors from promoting projects under the TV/theatrical contract, including Barbie, a Warner Bros. film.
