Neighbour puts note on car parked in public road – but driver leaves blunt reply – The Mirror

When a neighbour left a note taped to the window of a parked car, they didn’t expect the driver to leave a blunt reply in return, speaking up in defence of their parking
As many of us know all too well, bad parking can cause all sorts of rows among even the most peaceful of neighbours, resulting in heated exchanges, and of course, passive-aggressive notes. Now one neighbour who left a cross note taped to a parking car has been in for a bit of a surprise after receiving a reply in return, with the driver refusing to accept fault quite so easily.
The original note in question was straight to the point, leaving no room for arguments. Making their feelings on the parking situation crystal clear, the anonymous note writer had written, 'Please move your car. Thank you".
After spotting the note, the driver hit back with a rather blunt note of their own taped right beneath, sparking a conversation the original note writer most likely hadn't anticipated.
This second note, which was filled with follow-up questions, read as follows: "May I ask why? It's taxed, insured, and in the road I live in. At least tell me! Paul (Number 31) Who are you?
The animated exchange was spotted by a tickled passerby who'd been out walking their dogs. They have since shared a pic of the war of words to Reddit, admitting they'd found the ongoing disagreement "pretty amusing".
A number of fellow Reddit users also couldn't help but chuckle at the saga, and longed to see if there would be a "third episode" installment, as cheekily promised by the original poster.
One person commented: "Paul makes an excellent point! Will unknown respond?"
Another remarked: "You need to add a smaller note, like replying in a thread. Don't forget to complain about the amount of dog shit lately."
A third person said: "Eagerly awaiting their response. I love these situations where people think they own the public road outside of their house."
Others noted that the original message appeared to have been moved to the inside of the car window along with the second one, which the amused dog walker theorised was a case of "peak pettiness" on Paul's part. At the time of writing, it's unclear whether or not 'Unknown' will come back with a response of their own, but many have been left with baited breath, jokily comparing the tension to a climax of an Eastenders episode.
