Penniless boy parts with pet rooster for uncle’s liberty
Lawyer claims his client was implicated by police in a false case
LAHORE (Web Desk) – In an unusual incident, a boy offered his favourite pet as fee to a lawyer who is contesting a criminal case for his uncle in an anti-terrorism court of Lahore.
Media reports said young Ayan gave his rooster to the lawyer representing his uncle in the court to bail him out. Ayan has been raised by his uncle Mohsin Abbas.
The indigent boy, in a display of innocence, brought his rooster to the court to offer it to the lawyer for not being able to pay the fee. He handed over his rooster to the lawyer in tears.
The lawyer said Abbas was arrested in Pattoki and police had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs25,000 to release him.
He further claimed that Abbas's family had paid the money, but instead of releasing him, officials handed him over to Lahore police. There was evidence that Abbas was not involved in any kind of crime, claimed the lawyer.
