Homeowner furious after car blocks her driveway for a whole day – The Mirror

A woman has described the ‘unacceptable’ behaviour of a driver who parked in front of her house for a whole day, meaning she was unable to get her own car out of her driveway
When you live on a residential street one of the things that can cause a massive annoyance is parking. Sometimes you might find a neighbour has parked in your spot, while other times it might be someone visiting blocking your driveway. One resident has now described the "unacceptable" behaviour of a driver who blocked her driveway for an entire day.
The woman was left incredibly frustrated after she wasn't able to use her car between 10am and 6pm on September 5, due to the parked car, and she has now described the situation on "unacceptable on any level", CambridgeshireLive reports. Toni Stannard, who lives on King's Hedges Road in Cambridge, continued: "This isn't the first time us residents have had to put up with such a matter. As a driver, it's common sense not to park too near or across a dropped kerb."
Left unable to move her car off her drive, Toni ended up calling Cambridgeshire County Council's enforcement team at 10.19am to explain the situation, but no one came to help. A council spokesperson said: "We encourage everyone to park with consideration for others. Those who don't may receive a penalty charge notice from our civil enforcement officers. We cover the whole of the city and respond to issues daily.
"However, we have limited resources and that means we are not always able to respond to all requests in line with every individual's expectations. Cambridge residents with urgent issues can also contact the Police to seek enforcement action."
Parking disputes can be common among residents, and one person might just take the prize for worst parker ever – as they parked in the middle of the street. The man parks his BMW in such an inconvenient spot it blocks a total of nine houses from accessing their driveways. The man explained to his neighbour that he parks in the spot because he doesn't have enough room on his driveway for his cars.
In another parking row situation, a neighbour decided to get revenge on the resident that kept parking in front of their house, instead of parking in front of their own property. The anonymous neighbour explained: "I work from home, she seems to be in and out all day long. When she goes out, I nip out and pull my car two foot forward just to close up the space that she was in. Now when she comes back, the space she left 10 minutes ago is still there, but she can’t quite get back into it for some reason."
