Brit horrified after watching American girlfriend eat chocolate orange for first time – The Mirror

An American woman has horrified her boyfriend – as well as the rest of the nation with how she attempted to eat a Terry’s Chocolate Orange as some people brand it a ‘crime’
There are many foods that to non-UK residents may seem odd – from deep-fried Mars Bars to chip sarnies and spaghetti hoops on toast. What we may class as normal definitely isn't normal for other countries, and one American woman is on a mission to try all of the bizarre foods we have on offer.
Taking to TikTok to share her food reviews, she horrified her British boyfriend with how she decided to tuck into her latest British delicacy – a Terry's Chocolate Orange. The iconic chocolate that pops up every Christmas is a national favourite, but it left this woman baffled at how to eat it.

Posting the video on her TikTok, Alex Murphy ( @almurph18 ) reviewed some of the "weirdest British foods" as she called her chocolate orange a "Christmas classic for British people" and claimed that British people just have "really strange chocolate" whilst she attempts to get her treat out of the box.
The first comment she made was how heavy it was as she held it, and as she unwrapped it she was shocked at how big it was too, and her boyfriend can be heard in the background telling her that a Terry's Chocolate Orange is "one of the best chocolates." She then smelt it and excitedly said: "It's an actual full-blown chocolate orange! Apparently, it's made with real orange oil."
The chocolate is known for its "Don't tap it… Whack it" adverts which start to creep onto our screens around Christmas, advising people to whack the orange so it opens up into pieces. However, Alex was blissfully unaware of this method and decided to just bite straight into the ball.
It's safe to say, it horrified British viewers, and as the chocolate falls apart in her mouth. With the orange segments falling onto the table, her boyfriend looked as shocked as we all did as she held her tooth and said "ow" afterwards. With an army of unamused Brits who took comments to share their thoughts. "Is it just me who was shocked to their core when she took a bite," one TikToker commented, as another wrote: "BLASPHEMER! HERETIC! You didn't just do that?!" And another who said: "YOU DID NOT!! Everyone in the UK right now are all gasping lol."
