A flock of sheep acting weirdly were found to have munched down on a crop of weed.
After a record-breaking summer in which heatwaves, wildfires and flooding destroyed some of the key grazing areas around Thessaly, central Greece, the woolly band are understood to have invaded a greenhouse producing medicinal cannabis.
The owner told local TheNewspaper.gr website his crop had already been badly damaged by the extreme weather.
Once inside, the sheep simply finished off what was left.
He said: ‘I don’t know if it’s for laughing or crying. We had the heatwave and we lost a lot of production.
‘We had the floods, we lost almost everything. And now this. The herd entered the greenhouse and ate what was left. I don’t know what to say, honestly.’
Most recently, Storm Daniel battered much of Thessaly. The most intense storm since records began in 1930, it’s thought to have killed at least 17 people over three days earlier this month.
With cities and villages submerged, whole crops washed away and more than 100,000 animals and livestock killed, residents had to be airlifted or taken by lifeboats from their homes, according to official reports.
