There’s bad news and good news – and then there’s just weird news. Take a look back at the week in weird.
Man tries to eat DWI test
A 40-year-old Greenwich, CT man faced multiple charges after New York state police say he tried to eat his DWI test results.
Troopers say when his breathalyzer tests results were printing, the man grabbed the paperwork and tried to eat it. Read the full story.
 
Man arrested for gnome abuse
In other Connecticut crime news, a man was arrested in Fairfield, CT for shattering a garden gnome.
A 21-year-old New York City man admitted to smashing a garden gnome after police noticed pieces of the shattered gnome in the middle of the road. Another tell-tale sign: white concrete powder on the man’s hands.
He apparently is not a fan of Halloween decorations either as there were also several smashed pumpkins. Read he full story.
 
‘I heart Crystal Meth’
Authorities say sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Kentucky woman who was wearing a shirt expressing love for crystal meth. The 37-year-old was arrested this week and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. Read the full story.
 
Owl attacks hawk at LL Bean store
Outdoor enthusiasts got a real display of wild life at the grand opening of a Vermont LL Bean store. A European eagle owl chose the appropriate venue when it decided to attack a hawk.
The Burlington Free Press reports witnesses said the owl squeezed the hawk in its claws for several minutes, causing the hawk to shriek.
It turns out, the incident wasn’t entirely wid as the birds came from a bird show. The master falconer said the birds had known each other for six years but had never gone after each other before. Read the full story.
 
Woman wakes up to a deer in her house
While domestic birds got wild in Vermont, a New York deer decided spend some time indoors.
A western New York homeowner says she awoke to find an unwelcome visitor in her living room — a deer. Police said the young buck had crashed through a window and was standing near a couch. Read the full story.
 
Woman finds intruder snacking on cookie dough
Deer weren’t the only ones sneaking into houses this week – hungry nephews did some intruding as well.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a Wichita woman found him eating cookie dough from her freezer in the early-morning hours. The man told police he thought he was at his aunt’s house and was hungry. Read the full story.
