7 weird news stories making headlines throughout the world – Opelika Auburn News

Sometimes news is so crazy it’s difficult to believe events like these actually happen every day. 
In honor of April Fools’ Day, here is a list of odd news stories, and believe it or not, these stories aren’t a prank. 
1. A flock of sheep escape and take a day trip in Atlanta. Approximately 20 suburban sheep and their security dogs escaped an enclosure and were found roaming the busy city streets. The investigators said they won’t be pressing any charges for blocking the roadway. 
2. This family’s dog brought home more than bone
3. Gnomes deserve homes too, at least that’s what one Pennsylvanian man believes. Steve Hoke creates tiny homes from gnomes in trees. After being told he wasn’t allowed to make the homes in one park, he started carving them into trees at another.
4. A family puts its $1.4 million house on sale complete with six bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, elegant foyers and an anonymous stalker. According to the family, this stalker goes by the name the ‘Watcher.’ In the notes left at the house, the Watcher claims his family has been looking over the house for multiple generations. 
5. Two Indiana bakeries start a lawsuit over the shape of their doughnuts. Each bakery features a four-sided doughnut, but doesn’t want the competing bakery to continue making the square sweet treat. 
6. Angered that a local Taco Bell was closed, a man drives his car into the fast-food restaurant
7. After winning $12.5 million at a Nevada casino, a man continues to mine for gold. Some people really love their job.
