American woman leaves Brits in hysterics with her weird name for a jacket potato – The Mirror

Social media users were left howling over the mistake of a woman who called a jacket potato by a completely different name while demonstrating her unique take on the popular dish
It's not every day you come across a video of an American calling a jacket potato by a bizarre name and one woman has left people in hysterics over the blunder.
Food content creator Jen Curely was demonstrating how she prepared and cooked the staple British dish for her followers on TikTok. She began rinsing and scrubbing a large potato under a sink then patting it dry with a towel before poking holes into it with a fork.
Next, Jen pours olive oil over the vegetable and uses her hands to rub the liquid all over the top and edges. She proceeds to add a pinch of sea salt to the outer layer of the potato. The TikToker then pops it into her air fryer to cook for 30 minutes.
While it cooks, she cuts an onion into even slices, grates cheese, and heats up her baked beans using a pan. Once the potato is ready, Jen says you should immediately take it out and add the ingredients of your choosing. She plated her potato, cut it in the middle, and added cheese and beans. She described her meal as the perfect combination of 'sweet and salty' and perfect for a rainy day.
However, her followers were left in hysterics after said she made a 'potato jacket' instead of using the correct English word for the dish. A Jacket potato, also known as a baked potato, is a popular choice of meal for most Brits. It is crispy outside while being extra fluffy inside and is traditionally served with cheese and beans.
She hilariously captioned the clip: "You've seen a jacket potato but have you seen a potato jacket." The video, posted under the account @snackqween racked in 49,700 thousand likes and received over 500 comments from internet users.
One of her followers said: "So is a potato jacket a baked potato?" A second person quipped: "I just don't understand why we need to start calling it a jacket potato? Baked potato is still acceptable lol." A third person added: "Ma'am that is a baked potato. Are we calling them something new now? How did I miss this?"
Some people applauded the woman for sharing her 'game changer' recipe after ditching her microwave for an air fryer. One person said: "Why did i not ever think to put my potatoes in the air fryer?! They take an hour in the oven so i always give up on making them!" Another person chimed in: "Definitely a game changer! Air fryer is so helpful!"
