The brother of a serial offender dubbed 'Silent Man' because he blocks traffic and refuses to speak has branded him a "spoilt brat" who wants to return to prison – for free meals.
Human roadblock David Hampson, 53, has been jailed 10 times for standing in front of cars in Swansea city centre without speaking.
Once nicked, the mute menace refuses to even speak to confirm his name in court and has never explained himself to police, judges or psychiatrists.

But his brother John reckons it's just a ploy to get free meals and a roof over his head, the Sun reports.
He said: "He's not really mute. He never stops talking. It is quite simple really. He's a spoiled brat.
"There is nothing like a protest going on. He just does it to have a comfy life inside prison."
Hampson has been silently blocking traffic for nearly a decade and has infuriated authorities for his refusal to explain his bizarre behaviour.
In 2014, he received a two-year conditional discharge for four counts of wilfully obstructing free passage along the highway.
In 2015, he was convicted of a public nuisance offence for the same behaviour and was made the subject of his first criminal behaviour order.
He did jail time n 2016, 2017 and 2018 for breaching the court order.
In 2021, he was jailed for three-and-a-half years after a jury found him guilty of breaking a criminal behaviour order by blocking the road outside Swansea Central police station.
But when he was released in October 2023, Hampson was arrested for returning to the same road outside the police station to block traffic.
When JPs granted bail, he did it again outside the court. In December, he got six months.
John, also of Swansea, added: "There is nothing wrong with him. He acts dumb but I can tell you that he is not."
