Every now and then, you’ll stumble upon good fortune—maybe you’ll score a prime parking spot when you’re running late, or your suitcase will be the first one off the airport luggage carousel. And, even more rare is when a credit card issuer adds improvements to a card without raising or adding an annual fee.
If you’ve had your eye on the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, today is your lucky day. On March 21, 2024 at 6 p.m. Eastern Time, the issuer unveiled a number of significant improvements to an already top-notch no-annual-fee business credit card. Here’s what’s changing:
- The welcome bonus is now tiered, making it easier to earn some cash back sooner. The new offer provides up to $750 cash back. Cardholders can earn $350 cash back after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening an account. Plus, earn an additional $400 cash back after spending $6,000 in the first six months. The previous offer was $750 bonus cash back after you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first three months after account opening.
- For a limited time, get a first-year 10% relationship bonus. If you own the Ink Business Cash plus have a Chase Business Checking account on your first card anniversary, you’ll earn a one-time 10% bonus of all eligible cash back earned in your first year. That means if you earn $2,500 in cash back, you’ll get a $250 bonus. This didn’t exist before. This is only available for Ink Business Cash cards opened between March 17 and Nov. 17, 2024.
- Now get an automatic credit limit increase assessment. At least every six months, the issuer will review your card account to see if you qualify for a credit limit increase.
The card’s other attributes, from rewards to protections, have remained the same—making these changes true enhancements to the card, and not just a makeover with an increase in price. The card already holds a spot on our list of the best business cards for its excellent rewards tailored to the needs of business owners and a long list of valuable protections and insurance coverages. The new elements make a great card even better.

In terms of ongoing rewards, the Chase Ink Business Cash Card earns:
- 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year.
- 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year.
- 1% cash back on all other purchases.
- 5% cash back on Lyft rides through March 2025.
The card’s travel and shopping benefits include:
- Primary auto rental coverage: It’s rare to find primary rental coverage on a no-annual-fee card, and for those who frequently rent cars for work, this perk could save you a significant amount when you decline the rental insurance at the counter.
- Purchase protection: Eligible new purchases made with the card are covered for 120 days against damage or theft up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account.
- Extended warranty coverage: Get an extension on the manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year on eligible warranties of three years or less.
- Access to travel and emergency assistance: When traveling and in need of legal, medical or other types of emergency assistance, your card benefits include a number to call to get referrals for help.
- Roadside dispatch: Access to roadside dispatch to get help for things like changing a tire, towing and gas delivery. Fees for service will be charged to your card.
If you’d been considering adding the Chase Ink Business Cash Card to your wallet, Chase has increased the card’s appeal with the changes announced in March 2024.
Know that the rewards earned on this card are technically Chase Ultimate Rewards points that can be redeemed as cash back for a penny per point. But your rewards can also be combined with the earnings from a premium Chase card like the $95-annual-fee Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card.
Pairing the Ink Business Cash with the Ink Preferred and pooling your rewards means you unlock additional redemption options. Using one of the premium cards lets you redeem points for more value to make travel bookings through Chase Travel or transfer them at a 1:1 rate to more than a dozen airline and hotel transfer partners, which could yield even greater value. That sure sounds like a lucky break to us.
