A fantastic UFO video from a flight over New York City, a possible ghost spotted by a security guard in Mexico, and a hat bobble that was mistaken for an injured baby hedgehog were among the weird and wondrous stories that popped up on our radar this past week.
Crossing our desk this past week were a pair of particularly intriguing videos featuring unusual objects in the sky. In Brazil, witnesses captured footage of a glowing diamond-shaped UFO that silently hovered over a city to the astonishment of those who caught sight of the strange aerial anomaly. Meanwhile, a passenger on a flight departing New York City inadvertently filmed a remarkably clear saucer-shaped object that zipped past the plane shortly after takeoff. Theories as to what the weird UFO might have been range from a clandestine craft of some kind to a harmless balloon, though as of now the nature of the anomaly remains a mystery.

This past week was a weird one for security guards in Mexico as there were two separate incidents wherein workers stumbled upon eerie scenes that left them scratching their heads. On the campus of a college in Mexico City, a nightwatchman captured footage of a shadowy figure running through a building, but when he went to investigate the mysterious interloper, there was no one to be found. Later in the week, a department store security guard was stunned when several Alexa devices suddenly ‘came to life’ in the middle of the night and began praying. The witnesses’ video of the unsettling experience went viral on social media in Mexico, amassing a staggering 13 million views in just a few days.

Two amusing tales of mistaken identity wound up making headlines this past week. First, in England, a kindly animal lover spotted what she thought was a downed baby hedgehog on the side of a road. She proceeded to scoop the critter up and bring it home, where she provided it with a warm spot and some cat food. Concerned for the creature’s condition, she ultimately brought it to an animal hospital a few hours later and was informed by the vet on duty that the ‘hedgehog’ was really just the bobble from a winter hat. Then, in Washington state, a suspected Sasquatch sighting unraveled when a newspaper article on the incident caught the attention of a cross country runner who revealed that the witnesses had mistaken him for Bigfoot.
