Terrifying moment man just missed being slashed by rogue saw blade – Metro.co.uk
NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
A man narrowly avoided being sliced by an out of control blade that had spun at high speed across a car park.
Harrowing footage of the dramatic event shows the man from Eugene, Oregon barely dodging the deadly blade as it pelted towards him at full speed.
Shane Reimche had gone to the Quick Trip Market in Oregon on Thursday.
He had barely got into the shop when the metal disc catapulted straight into the door.
Spinning through the car park, it can be seen gathering speed before it wedged itself in the shopfront.
‘I mean, obviously it wasn’t my time but probably closest I’ve ever experienced,’ Shane told ABC News.
‘I was walking into the store here, I put my hand on the door and I heard a loud bang and yelling here at the corner.
Just as a cloud of smoke pops up and I see a guy fall in the ditch, and four-foot blade hurtling at me.
‘Last minute I was able to duck behind the counter,’ he said.
Shane said he was petrified by the whole ordeal, adding: ‘I had tears all night. It was petrifying. I was shaking in the store.
‘It took a little while before I could talk. That thing was huge, you can see the hole in the wall.
‘I’m thankful to be here. I was thinking maybe it’s my time, I don’t think I would’ve survived being touched by that thing.’

‘[I thought] It was just wind, all of a sudden we heard a loud bang. It shook the whole store,’ Amit said.
The blade had escaped from a nearby construction site overseen by Northwest Natural Gas, who were dealing with a leaky gas valve at the time.
In a statement, the company said: ‘This incident involved a contractor at a NW Natural job site.
‘We are reviewing our association with this contractor, and we have removed the contractor from other work for us for now.’
