Man slams 'worst parking ever' as Fiat 500 driver oblivious his car is almost foot in air – The Mirror

Brandon Parfitt was walking home when he noticed a Fiat 500 parked on a grass verge with its back tyre ‘in the air’ – and the driver was completely unaware of his parking job
We've all seen – and maybe even done – some bad parking jobs before, but this one really takes the crown.
Brandon Parfitt was walking home from work on Saturday (April 13) when he noticed a Fiat 500 parked on a grass verge on a country road near his home. However, the tradesman claimed the driver's parking job was so bad he initially thought the car had crashed, and he went over to see if everything was okay.
The car in question had gone so far up the verge that one back tyre was lifted completely off the ground, with the car seemingly parked "in the air". But when Brandon, 25, approached the car, he found a couple sitting inside who were "completely oblivious" to their parking mishap.
The tradesman, from Norwich, Norfolk, said: "I was on a walk home and was coming up the road near my house. It's a narrow hill down a country lane. I saw the Fiat 500 there and at first, I thought they'd crashed.
"There was an old lady and an old man just sitting in the car just quietly not doing anything. I thought, 'I won't say anything' but I walked past and just checked the back of the car to see if it was alright or if they'd been shoved up the back or something like that. I turned around and went 'Nah, I've got to say something' because it was parked very much in the air.
"I mentioned it to him and he was completely oblivious, to be honest with you. He said, 'Oh am I, oh crikey' and kicked the tyre. I don't get how he didn't notice. After I mentioned it, he said 'Thank you' and the next thing I heard was him just revving and then he went off. He was completely oblivious, not so much as a thought really. It was so silly but I'm shocked at how oblivious he was, to be honest."
Brandon explained he was glad to see that neither the driver nor the passenger had been injured, but was so baffled by what he saw that he filmed a video of the car and shared it on TikTok. He claimed there is a "running joke" among motorists about Fiat 500 drivers in general, which was evident when 48,000 people liked his clip and hundreds more left comments poking fun at the driver's parking job.
The man added: "It's not really what you expect. I'm shocked they parked there to be honest, but I was more concerned for the drivers. I knew they were both okay because they were both chatting and I think his wife was just eating a banana in the passenger seat.
"It's just totally random and there is that running joke about Fiat 500 drivers. Everyone likes to joke about them. If I hadn't filmed it, I don't think people would believe it."
Several commenters on the video – which has been viewed over 600,000 times – joked about the way the driver had parked, with some calling it the "worst parking fail ever". One person said: "He had to have a proper good look as well like it's not obvious the wheels off the floor." And another added: "Best parking I've seen from a Fiat 500 in fairness."
But others suggested Brandon was at fault for filming the driver's predicament. Someone wrote: "Why do people video everything? If people videoed me and put it on here, I'd be p***ed," as someone else commented: "I hate people that don't mind their own business."
