Rita Ora's Primark clothing line 'a flop' as shopper finds prices cut from £20 to £2 – The Mirror
Primark and Rita Ora’s fashion collaboration appears to have had some massive price drops, with people online suggesting the singer’s clothing line has ‘flopped’
Rita Ora's Primark clothing line has seen a massive price drop and customers have branded it a "flop".
The Rita Ora X Primark line appears to have been discounted by 90% in some cases. One TikTok user has documented the discounts, most of which were seen to be 50% off or more. The viral clip saw user Nissy SetBetter take a look at the reduced items before saying: "Rita, come collect your things."
Social media users found the TikTok video funny as Nissy was seen wandering through the store and pointing out the cheap clothing items, repeatedly calling the line a "flop".
Nissy even joked Rita Ora's agent had "sold [her] a dream" as she mocked the fashion brand. She said: "All I have to say is Rita, Rita Ora – this thing flopped from £20 to £2. This is from £14 down to £7. Rita, come and collect your things then, from Primark. It flopped."
Social media users agreed with Nissy's assessment of the heavily discounted clothing items, with one writing the drop in price is "actually diabolical". Another user suggested Primark "want that s**t gone by yesterday". Others who claimed to have worked at Primark when the fashion line dropped claim Nissy was right and it did "flop."
Primark has been contacted for comment.
This comes despite reports that Rita's clothing line netted the store £3.4billion in the last three months of 2023. Her new Spring range was launched in all Primark stores across 16 countries on March 19.
Rita said the new line would consist of "style staple" fabrics like denim and "floral prints". She added: "I’m so excited to launch the next stage of my journey with Primark." John McCormack, Head of Fashion Trends, said: "With each new collection we’ve been pushing ourselves with Rita and her team to create bolder, more daring looks. It means we can really explore exciting new trends and ensure our fashion will stand out from the crowd and continue to be in style season after season."
