A woman who's boyfriend jetted off on a holiday without her as been left baffled by one item he packed in his case.
The lady, named Janice, has been left confused after her beau popped a rather concerning question about the item before his trip.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter ), Janice sought the wisdom of the internet masses, confessing that the whole thing felt a bit "off". She spilled the beans that her boyfriend wanted to know if she'd be alright with him taking condoms on his holiday after a mate had supposedly requested them.
Her post read: "Dropped my boyfriend off at the airport to go to Mexico with a few friends (men and women) today. Why when leaving this morning my boyfriend asked me did I feel comfortable with him bringing condoms because his male friend asked? That sh*t seemed so f**king off to me, plz help."
The internet went wild for the post, as it went viral – racking up a whopping 8.7million views. Lots of people reckoned her man was up to no good, with one bluntly stating: "He cheating." Another chimed in with: "Girl his friend could've got his own condoms, he basically asking are you comfortable with me possibly cheating on you."
A third added their two cents, saying: "He said that as a cover up so when he comes back and you find an empty box of condoms in his things."
Numerous people couldn't fathom why the friend in question wouldn't just purchase his own condoms. While some suggested the boyfriend had posed the question merely to reduce suspicion.
One individual offered a cheeky retaliation tactic, advising: "Go on a girl's trip and put condoms in your suitcase. And if/when he ask why you got them? Tell him one of ya homegirls is single and ready to mingle and she didn't have an extra $10 to buy some! ".
Eventually, Janice confronted her partner about the issue and shared a screenshot of their back-and-forth conversation. She texted him, warning: "I checked, you can buy them [condoms] in Mexico. If you're gonna do something, you better make sure it's worth it. I don't like the sneaky vibes at all."
In response, her boyfriend defensively expressed: "I asked you multiple times for a reason so that it wouldn't be a problem Janice. Why did you wait again until we were separated to do this?
"Obviously he could just buy them, but that's why he asked beforehand if I had any so he wouldn't have to spent unnecessary money. Nothing sneaky which is why I looked you in your eyes and asked if you were comfortable with this multiple times."
He continued to insist upon his innocence, adding, "I'm not on any type of sneaky sh*t, I hate that you would think that which is why I tried responsibly communicating with you about the situation. I apologise for putting myself in a position that makes you question my actions."
"I thought I made the correct decision by speaking with you about it, but next time I will just make sure to do better with not making you question my actions and keeping myself out of that position."
He then shot back with another message stating: "I love you and hope you have a great Friday with work and just overall."
Janice ended the conversation by telling everyone: "I know what my intuition is telling me. I just have a bad habit of jumping the gun but I know I'm not wrong for the vibes I feel. Thank you all for validating me setting sh*t off is the right course of action."
Crikey, Janice's boyfriend has some serious grovelling to do if they're hoping to patch things up!
