Woman nearly fired after her identical twin secretly took her place at work – The Mirror
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to switch lives with someone for a day? A pair of twins claim they did just this – with one secretly going to the other’s day job
A pair of identical twins were caught red-handed switching places in real life, when one needed a break from the day job.
Whether we like to admit or not, many of us are guilty of 'pulling a sickie' or slacking at work when we just don't feel like being there. Perhaps you've even wondered what it might be like to have someone take your place for the day, while you sit at home and binge Netflix.
Now Canadian influencers, Ari and Noe Chance, claim they put this to the test – but were met with some dire consequences when the prank backfired. The pair of identical sisters were determined to give this a go when one was rejected from her annual leave but wanted to jet off anyway.
Though perhaps, in hindsight, posting it on TikTok (@chance_twins) wasn't the most subtle way to go about it, with the company's boss quickly catching wind of their plans.
"My boss saw the video my twin posted while covering for me at work," their latest TikTok was captioned, as one twin zoomed into the brutal 'official warning' from their employer. It read: "Let me be clear: your decision enlist your twin sister as a substitute while you galivant off on vacation after your leave request was denied is completely unacceptable.
"It's a slap in the face to both your colleagues who abide by the rules and the company that entrusts you with responsibilities.
"I shouldn't have to remind you of the importance of professional conduct, both within and outside the workplace. Your actions not only reflect poorly on yourself but also tarnish the reputation of our company. This level of disregard for protocol and decorum is frankly shocking and will not be tolerated."
The manager, referred to only as 'John', also demanded for an apologetic 'immediate explanation' for the behaviour and a 'plan of action' to rectify the situation. Concluding the email with 'disappointed regards', he firmly warned: "Any further instances of misconduct will result in serious consequences, including potential disciplinary action."
Unsurprisingly, the twins' post was quick to rack up thousands of comments, with many eager to find out what happened next. One person wrote: "I NEED to know what your response to this is because WHAT," while another advised: "Just say the video was a joke you didn’t actually do that. It’s your personal comedy page. Nothing to see here."
A third also asked: "How were you not fired on the spot?", as someone else remarked: "And making another TikTok is crazyyyy."
