Homeowner finds hidden room years after moving in and it's 'like a nightmare' – The Mirror
The homeowner had been living in the house for years when they came across the hidden room – and what was behind the wall is the stuff of nightmares
A homeowner is giving people nightmares after discovering a secret room hidden behind a wall – five years after moving into the property.
In a video shared online, it shows the person discovering that two bricks in a grey stone wall of their dining room can be removed to uncover a gold turning lock. The door then pops and hinges open, perfectly disguised into the rest of the wall, to reveal a room about the size of a cupboard which they had no idea existed.
It was posted on Reddit with the caption: "Been living in this house for 5 years, never noticed there was a secret door leading to a little storage cubby behind the dining room finish." It was enough to set many viewers on edge as they compared it to something from a "nightmare", while one commented to say: "Imagine opening it up and finding signs that someone has been living there a long time."
A second said: "Thats some Parasite s*** right there." A third wrote: "Sweet murder room bro! What a find." And another added: "Huh, that’s kind of creepy actually," as the homeowner replied to say: "Kinda creepy but no dead bodies at least." In a bid to put everyone at a bit more ease, they added: "I should've brought a flashlight when I recorded but there was really nothing interesting I can find. Just a broom & dustpan, a 1/3 bag of concrete, some wood boards, those little indoor fence things and spare blinds."
They said although the wall in the dining room stuck out from the other features of the house, they had never considered it would be hiding anything behind it. Others said it was their dream to discover something similar in their own house, while one added their own little gem of advice, suggesting: "1: Don't tell anyone else in the house. 2: Hide in room. 3: Scream."
