Woman's horror as she realises why you shouldn't leave windows open with lights on at night – The Mirror
A woman has issued a warning to anyone opening their windows and doors as temperatures rise after her own horrific encounter – as you could end up with hundreds of bugs in your home ‘everywhere’
A young woman has issued a warning to people planning on opening their windows this spring and summer.
As the sunshine has been prevailing across the UK, many of us have will have been opening our doors and windows. But one young woman, Jess, regrets doing so after a horrifying sight. She took to TikTok recently to ask for help, as she share what happened when she had left her lights on in her bedroom and opened her windows at night to let some air in.
With her hand over her mouth, the gobsmacked woman said: "No, I'm going to cry. I've left my windows open for two days straight. I've just looked to my ceiling. Oh my god, I'm going to cry. They're actually everywhere. What the f***? What do I do?"
The horrified young woman had noticed that hundreds of bugs had entered her bedroom and were all over her ceiling. She added: "That's ridiculous. If I turn my lights off they're all going to…oh my god. I did know this was a thing but I had a moment of silliness and forgot to turn my light off."
The scared woman moved to her parents bedroom to sleep, but was in for a night of not much sleep after being spooked by a spider's web. She believes what she discovered gathered in her bedroom was "mosquitos, spiders, random bugs, and a bunch of spider eggs".
Reacting to the viral video, which raked in thousands of comments and over 172,000 views, one individual said: "My window has been open for the past five days without even shutting the curtain overnight." Another wrote: "This happened to me last night omg I wanted to cry. I spent a whole 40 minutes hoovering them up."
Relating to the scared woman, another said: "I had this last year – just hoover them up and make sure you get EVERYWHERE." "Thank you, I just closed my window," wrote another.
One suggested Jess should "hoover the ceiling". "This just reminded me to close my window," another said.
One other suggested: "Happened to me, made one of those jam and fairy liquid jar traps and slept on the sofa and when I returned there was none in the jar but also none on my ceiling." A number of people pointed out that Jess could get a screen on her window.
