Shoppers 'creeped out' by bizarre-looking skincare product they can't believe people use – The Mirror
Shoppers have been left in shock after seeing a Reddit post detailing a ‘creepy’ blue face mask – but many insist the moisturising product is a staple in their beauty regime
Shoppers have been left "creeped out" by a bizarre-looking moisturising mask after a snap of it was shared on Reddit.
The product in question – the Cryo Rubber Moisture Mask by the beauty moguls at Dr. Jart+ – was posted to the Weird subreddit, prompting varied reactions.
"I’m sure this is completely innocent but this thing seriously creeps me out," declared the poster. They added: "I found this while I was in line at a store waiting to pay and I just knew it had to be shared somewhere on Reddit! I hope this is the right subreddit. Would anyone seriously use this?"
As the 'rubber' in its name suggests, the mask's packaging suggests it looks almost as if it were made with blue PVC, moulding around the face to create an almost baby-like appearance.
"I totally got one of those masks and was haunted by the picture on the front for weeks," one person responded." Another joked: "What kind of drugs is their marketing team doing because wtf lol."
A third added: "Very creepy and freaky. I’d like to see what it looks like when someone is wearing it." And a fourth said: "I used to use these every sunday and my mum would point out how weird it looked every time she nicknamed it "creepy baby mask'."
But others who have used the product were quick to hail the effect it has had on their skin. "Love Dr Jart products!" said one. "This is a very hydrating face mask. It's just like those hydrogel under eye patches but for the entire face."
A second agreed: "The Cryo Rubber mask is great, it doesn’t actually look like that when mixed, it’s just kind of a chunky gelatinous almost white gunk that pretty quickly sets to a rubbery consistency."
A third penned: "Dr. Jart is a fantastic brand!!!! I hope you get over how weird it looks because it will be worth using!" And a fourth simply added: "Actually it’s one of the best masks."
For sale in Boots for £13, Dr. Jart+'s product description reads: "This intensely hydrating, innovative two-step moisturising treatment mask is for dry skin. Dr.Jart+ combines a highly concentrated Hyaluronic Acid ampoule with a cooling, moisture-locking Cryo Rubber™ mask to help boost the absorption of the potent gel-like serum."
