Woman finds Yodel parcel in the garden – two years after ordering the package – The Mirror

A woman’s Yodel parcel she had thought lost two years before finally turned up while she was weeding her garden, as the firm apologised her experience was not ideal
A woman was shocked when she discovered a Yodel parcel she had ordered two years before hidden in the tall weeds of her garden.
Meg Johnson, 30, had ordered a parcel from Vinted in 2022, but she believed it was never delivered. She contacted the online reseller site and directed her to Yodel who told her the product was marked as delivered.
Over the weekend she was doing some weeding in her garden when she came across a parcel which she opened. Inside was the dress she had ordered two years previous. Unfortunately, the £10 dress had not survived being open to the elements and appeared decomposed.
Meg, from Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf, told WalesOnline : “The bag has been torn open where I can only assume wildlife have been at it, and the dress itself was wet, covered in soil, home to a lot of bugs, and pretty much totally decomposed.
“I am so disappointed with this service and would expect better from such a large and well-known company. I think it's terrible Yodel employs such careless people.
“I later contacted their CEO Complaints department only to be brushed off with a generic email. Disappointing as it was their fault I ended up losing money. It wasn't a lot, but that's beside the point."
Meg said she believed the parcel had been thrown over her garden wall by the courier. She added the flower bed where the parcel was found is raised so the greenery could be seen from the other side of the wall.
A Yodel spokesperson said: "The safe delivery of parcels is our number one priority, and we are sorry Ms Johnston's experience did not meet the high standards we strive for. We would encourage anyone expecting a delivery to share a safe space exclusively via our app where we have also introduced access to proof of delivery images."
