'I heard strange noises in garden and couldn't believe my eyes when I found cause' – Express
Taking to Reddit, she shared a snap of the quackers incident, with dozens of ducks making themselves at home on her lawn.
“Heard strange noises,” she captioned her post in the r/weird subreddit. “Opened my front door to be confronted by this. I do not and never have owned ducks.”
“You might have an infestation of crane flies, chinch worms, or some other insect,” commented one Redditor in an attempt to offer an explanation. “We have crows visit our lawn sometimes when we have lawn bugs.”
“Probably due to the flooded road you’ve got there bud. Real weird,” added another, to which the original poster clarified: “This is Scotland. That’s not flooded that’s a tiny shower. Totally normal haha.”

A third suggested: “Looks like your lawn is wet. Those ducks were probably flying low and saw something appealing in your yard. They will take off soon. I have geese that stop over in my field on their way to the lake. One bit my little dog and she has never forgiven the geese for it and now she barks and barks at every goods and we have tons of them in our neck of the woods.”
And a fourth explained: “Mallards. They tend to migrate in packs and forage for the bugs in your yard. Most likely, they’re either wild and you’re close to their water source, or you have a neighbor that didn’t know they can fly. If it’s the first, they’ll visit, eat bugs, and move on. If the second they’ll visit regularly and move on. They tend not to damage anything unless maybe a potted plant or so left unattended.”

Others, meanwhile, poked fun at the duck tale, with one Reddit user quipping: “The universal cat distribution system is pivoting into new markets but there are some kinks to work out.”
A second person joked: “Well sorry to say but it seems they want to be yours, you are their true leader. Quack quack.” Whilst a third laughed: “There’s enough ducks there to keep you in Peking style shredded duck, hoisin, spring onion, with cucumber logs for about 2 years… Well done!”
Returning to her post later in the day to reply, the Scot wrote: “I’ll maybe just keep one …”
