Oregon unveils new Generation O 'Fly Era' combination

Ahead of their Big Ten debut next season, the Oregon Ducks unveiled new all-black uniforms on Wednesday, nicknamed the “Fly Era” combo.

The Ducks’ reveal video included former Oregon star De’Anthony Thomas, who wore similarly designed threads while with the Ducks from 2011 to 2013.

The look has silver wings on the black helmet and steel plates across the neck. The numbers are silver with green stitching, while the players’ names are also in green. Perhaps most notably, Oregon’s jerseys will also include the “B1G” patch.

Oregon first wore black uniforms in 2005 in a “Civil War” matchup against the Oregon State Beavers, during the program’s uniform renaissance. Since then, the Ducks have worn different variations of the now-staple black threads. Oregon has become known for its deep closet, wearing entirely different combinations for each game.

The Ducks’ season begins Aug. 31 with a matchup against the Idaho Vandals.
