A possible ghost filmed at a British war memorial, a couple who may have encountered Men in Black, and a woman who was saved by a dead hare after she fell into a frozen lake are among the weird and wondrous stories to cross our desk this week.
A pair of potential ghost videos popped up in the news this past week, beginning with an eerie piece of footage which shows what appears to be an apparition at a war memorial in England. Captured by a young man as he and a friend drove past the site, the mist-like figure can be seen sitting on a bench next to a sizeable statue before the anomaly vanishes into thin air. Later in the week, a similarly spooky video from a home security system in Australia left a couple understandably unsettled as it seems to show the moment wherein a ghost emerges from a cabinet containing the ashes of departed family members and then subsequently walks alongside their unfazed dog.
This past week featured a particularly odd account from a couple in Massachusetts who reported a UFO sighting which may have been followed by a visit from the infamous Men in Black. The unnamed duo claim that they were smoking a cigarette in front of their home when a glowing orb suddenly appeared before them and ascended into the sky before disappearing from view. The incident took an even stranger turn later that evening when they went back outside and saw three mysterious strangers dressed entirely in black and silently staring at the couple in a manner which left them so terrified that they ran back inside their house.
Easily the weirdest story of the week came by way of Alaska, where a woman fell through the ice atop a lake and wound up escaping the perilous predicament thanks to a dead hare that she had picked up earlier in the day. Kelsey Haas’ strange misadventure began when she and some friends visited the popular sightseeing spot Grewingk Glacier and, on the way there, she stumbled upon the animal’s frozen remains. Keeping the carcass to harvest for its fur, her decision proved to be rather fortuitous when she later plunged through some ice. Struggling to escape the frigid water, the quick-thinking Haas used the creature in a manner akin to a grappling hook in order to pull herself back onto the ice and out of danger.
