Baffled couple find group of sheep on their roof – The Mirror
The couple heard the sound of ‘scuffling’ – only to find a group of sheep wandering about on their roof
A couple got a big surprise when they heard a strange noise – only to discover sheep wandering on their roof. Kristen Jackson, 28, and Daniel Payne, 33, were tucked up in bed at home in Whitworth, Lancashire when they heard the strange noise at around 8am on Thursday (August 15).
Kristen, who was working from home that day, said: "I was working from home and my partner had the day off but I was awake and just heard loads of scuffling on the roof. I woke my partner up and was like 'do you hear that?'.
"He said 'it's probably just birds'. With the wood next to us, we get a lot of wood pigeons and it's not the first time we've heard them outside.

"But I was sure it sounded much heavier and it was going on for some time." Eager to know what was occurring, Kristen donned her dressing gown and stepped outside, only to find four sheep on their roof, minding their own business.
Kristen said: "I burst out laughing and ran back inside to first of all grab my phone – as I just had to get a photo as no one would believe me – but I shouted at my partner to come out and said he had to see this. I didn't tell him what it was so when he came out, I think he must of thought I was overreacting to something.
"He looked up and he couldn't believe it and started laughing. We knew how they had got onto the roof but it's still crazy to think they actually did it."
Kristen, who has lived at the home she is renovating with Daniel since June 2023, said that while sheep and cows have wandered near her home before, she had never seen them on the roof until Thursday.
"I'm more concerned they didn't make any damage or fall of the edges as it's a big drop," added Kristen. "As we were spotted it spooked the sheep, so thankfully they got off the roof straight away and managed to make their way back up the hill towards the fields."
