Man finds terrifying 'alien' spider in bathroom – even after keeping windows shut – Express
A terrified Brit says he wants to leave the country after discovering an “alien” spider in his bathroom – despite making sure all his windows and doors were closed.
Taking to TikTok, Amz (@amzzzzz9) warned others to “take cover” because “spiders are not spiders anymore” in the UK. Screaming to his 136,000 followers, he declared: “They’re not even tarantulas – they’re fully grown aliens. I don’t open the windows on purpose, how do you enter the house?”
Detailing his trauma, Amz revealed he spotted what appeared to be a pebble in the corner of the room, only for it start moving once he touched it. Confused as to why the creepy crawly was attracted to his abode in the first place, he went onto explain: “The fan is on 24/7. It’s not humid. There’s no food in my room. I don’t eat there. What is there for you in the corner of my room? Nothing!”
He then shared a snap of the eight-legged monster on his clip, which was seen crawling over his bathroom tiles. “Where are they coming from?” asked Amz. “A UK spider should not look like this.”
Amz continued: “When it comes to spiders, normally I smack them with a slipper. It was that big I had to spray it wth the shower head. I had to drown it.”

Amz then included footage in his video taken by another arachnophobe, who had resorted to sucking up a spider following their own encounter. “How is it so big?” he asked.
“I have never seen anything like this. If I ever saw anything like this in my house, the whole house is being burnt down – I’m turning the house to ashes. It looks like it came from Hogwarts.”
Amz closed by joking he’d have to “call the Secret Service” if a spider like that ever escaped the vacuum for fear of it “eating him alive”. Since sharing his video earlier this month, it has been viewed by more than one million TikTok users, many of whom were quick to admit similar phobias.

“I just saw a harvest spider in my house that literally looked like it came all the way from Australia,” a fellow fearful Brit said. A second person confessed: “There was one in my room so I slept in the bath.”
While a third shared: “There was a baby spider infestation in my room a few weeks ago. They were everywhere, climbing along the wallas and hanging off the ceiling. Had to evacuate my room for three days while a flea bomb was let off. When I came back baby spider corpses were everywhere. Worst part is a few days later i saw a single survivor on my ceiling.”
Spiders typically start to come indoors in mid to late August, with numbers peaking in September. We are also coming up to spider mating season, which begins next month, and sees male spiders coming into homes on the hunt for females.
The RSPB recently reported that the UK’s largest breed of spiders, which can grow to the size of rats and hunt fish, are making a comeback in Britain, meanwhile.
