Ann Coulter blames Democrats for her calling Tim Walz's son 'weird' – Raw Story

Ann Coulter tried to explain her attack on Gov. Tim Walz's neurodivergent son in a post that platformed speech against the 17-year-old.
Coulter said on X Thursday evening that she deleted a comment made earlier in the day that the teenager was "weird" for crying and saying "that's my dad" during his father's speech at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night.
"I took it down as soon as someone told me he’s austistc [sic]," Coulter wrote. "But it’s Democrats who go around calling everyone weird thinking it’s hilariously funny."
Gus' mom Gwen told People Magazine Thursday that he has been diagnosed with non-verbal learning disorder, an anxiety disorder and Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder.
"Gus’ condition is not a setback," she said, "it’s his secret power."

Walz, running mate of Vice President Kamala Harris, rose to national celebrity after he dubbed the MAGA right "weird" and changed the messaging of the 2024 presidential election.
Coulter's explanation came into response to a tweet from X user "Nick," @lilLebowski11, whose message she shared with his followers.
"I’m guessing she didn’t know he had Autism, even though he looks a little special," he wrote.
Coulter's response did not impress Republicans with the never-Donald Trump group The Lincoln Project.
"So if he didn't have autism, mocking a child would've been fine?" the group replied.
Donald Trump's rebuttal to Vice President Kamala Harris packed quite the punch — on his telephone buttons.
Trump's phone-in interview to Fox News Thursday night after Harris accepted the Democratic Party's presidential nomination was interrupted at least six times by the former president seeming to accidentally press the buttons on his own phone.
"Trump is calling in to Fox and he keeps hitting buttons on the phone," reported Colorado Sun columnist Mario Nicolais. "Beep! Boop!"
Trump railed to Fox News Bret Baier about the many complaints he had with Harris' speech as Baier and co-host Martha MacCallum repeatedly tried to cut in and ask him a question.
"She's not having success," Trump declared. "I'm having success."

Meanwhile on social media, viewers noted Trump seemed to be having less success with his own telephone.
"Trump is calling into Fox, lying, saying Harris is 'going to give a tax increase of 4 to 5 times what people and companies are paying right now,'" wrote Vanity Fair correspondent Brian Stelter. "And he seems to be accidentally pressing buttons on his phone while he speaks."
"Holy c—," wrote liberal commentator Brian Krassenstein. "Trump called into Fox News just now, all flustered and pushing buttons on his phone after Kamala Harris’ speech. Fox Hosts then had to cut him off."
The Democratic political group American Bridge 21st Century called out Trump for comments he made between the beeps.
"A confused Trump forgets Kamala Harris did talk about China, the border, and the housing crisis in her speech as he fumbles with the buttons on his phone," the group wrote on X. "Go to sleep Donald."

A rambling Donald Trump was no match for producers at Fox News, who cut away from the former president during a lengthy rebuttal to Kamala Harris' acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention.
Trump's rebuttal on the network touched on his familiar talking points: denying he had anything to do with Project 2025, railing against Harris as a failed border czar and baselessly accusing her of being a Marxist.
The stream of commentary — which was filled with beeps from his phone — appeared to become too much for the network. As Trump railed that Democrats tossed President Joe Biden "out of the party," hosts Bret Baier and Marth MacCallum tried to interject.
"Mr. President — " attempted Baier.

Undeterred, Trump continued, and MacCallum tried to cut in, saying "And that's why we saw a different vibe tonight."
Baier and MacCallum then echoed one another: "Mr. President, thank you so much for the time, we appreciate that live feedback."
MacCallum tossed it over to host Greg Gutfeld on "Gutfeld!" who began his show with a bit of humor.
"That wasn't my fault Donald Trump," he said, eliciting laughs from the panel. "He's still talking by the way."

Donald Trump posted a slew of eyebrow-raising gripes as Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic Party's presidential nomination Thursday.
Trump took to Truth Social to complain about elements of Harris' national address at the United Center in Chicago.
"Too many 'Thank yous,' too rapidly said, what’s going on with her?" Trump wrote. "A lot of talk about childhood, we’ve got to get to the Border, Inflation, and Crime!"
Trump also demanded to know the location of President Joe Biden's son Hunter and suggested Harris' running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) had misrepresented his experience as a high school football coach.
"WHERE’S HUNTER?" Trump wrote. Then added, "Walz was an ASSISTANT Coach, not a COACH."
These quips were met with confusion on X from political commentators who did not share Trump's concerns.
Bloomberg columnist Matthew Yglesias replied to Trump's jab at Walz with sarcasm, writing, "They’ve got him now."
"Good lord," added Talking Points Memo's Josh Marshall. "He just tweeted this!"
Wired and Slate contributor Alejandra Caraballo looked at three Trump posts and said in her analysis, "He's not taking this well."
S.V. Dáte, White House correspondent for the Huffington Post, appeared to beyond words when Trump wrote on Truth Social, "IS SHE TALKING ABOUT ME?"
The correspondent literally responded with "………….."
Attorney Andrew Fleischman expressed concern.
"Oh no," he wrote, "I thought he was gonna let a staffer do this."
