Woman hilariously ropes in Met Office to get revenge on ex who scorned her – The Mirror

Bethany Hunt has left Brits in absolute stitches after coming up with a ‘genius’ way of snubbing her and her friend’s exes by making the most of a little-known Met Office feature
A woman has devised a genius yet bizarre plan to get back at her exes using the Met Office.
Blocking your old beau on Facebook, dating their best friend, or burning the hoody they left at your house are all classic acts of revenge for when we want closure. But for Bethany Hunt, that wasn't enough.
To get her own back on the boys who have ruined her birthday plans and irked her friends, the 26-year-old submitted their names to the Met Office to use for storm names in 2025. Speaking to the Mirror, Bethany, from Cambridgeshire, explained that she accidentally stumbled on the form when checking the weather.
"When I came across the page I thought, why not name them after mine and my friend's exes (partly a joke, partly me really wanting it to be chosen) so I submitted the names and posted a TikTok the next day," she said. The video blew up overnight, attracting a staggering 286,000 views and thousands of likes.
In the 'reason for name choice' part of the form, Bethany hilariously penned: "They are all names of my exes/ friend's exes and I want them to be responsible for ruining other people's lives too. AKA it would bring me great joy to hear people describing the storm as 'Tom has ruined my birthday plans' just like he did to mine in 2022."

"I honestly thought maybe a few friends would see it and find it funny," she added. "But I didn't expect the TikTok to blow up as much as it did and to have so many people also submitting names as well."
Hundreds of viewers flocked to the comments section to hail Bethany's 'iconic' and' 'Queen' behaviour. "HAHAHA this is brilliant," one person raved. "One of my exes is named in that [list] so praying they accept your suggestions.
Another tickled viewer commented: "Oh my god your reasons have me absolutely creased with laughter." A third added: "This made me cackle, love it," while a fourth penned: "Sorry, I'm obsessed with this."
