Source: Titans cutting '21 first-round CB Farley

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans waived cornerback Caleb Farley on Tuesday.

Farley, selected by the Titans in the first round (No. 22) in the 2021 draft, was in a competition for a reserve spot in the secondary. But he won’t be a part of Tennessee’s opening 53-man roster.

He missed valuable time during camp with a hamstring injury. But Farley saw his first game action in over a year in the preseason finale this past Sunday.

“It was an awesome feeling to go out there,” Farley said. “To go out there one more time, I’m forever grateful. You have to love it to put your body through some of this stuff and keep trying and keeping coming out here to play.”

Farley has faced his share of adversity since entering the NFL. Various injuries limited Farley to 12 games over the past three seasons. He has 14 tackles and one pass defended over his career.

Farley’s most recent injury, a herniated disk, required a microdiskectomy and raised concerns that he would never be able to step on the field again.

His home in Mooresville, North Carolina, was leveled last year in an explosion that killed his father, Robert Farley, and injured another man.
