Flex and superflex rankings for Week 8

Welcome to Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season and our weekly PPR fantasy football superflex rankings. We know many of you compete in superflex formats that invite/covet second quarterbacks in starting lineups, so these rankings account for that. It might look odd to see the lowest-ranked fantasy passers ahead of typical RB2 and WR2 options, but the potential scoring impact demands it. If your league is of the standard flex variety, just ignore the presence of quarterbacks. Regardless, good luck this week!

1. Lamar Jackson, Ravens (QB1): He’s playing at a different level than other quarterbacks, coming off a 5-TD outing.

2. Josh Allen, Bills (QB2): His lack of rushing attempts, yards and TDs more than offsets his lack of interceptions.

3. Jayden Daniels, Commanders (QB3): A rib injury may force him to the bench for Sunday against the Bears.

4. Jalen Hurts, Eagles (QB4): No turnovers in the past two games, but there’s a step up in class against the Bengals this week.

5. Brock Purdy, 49ers (QB5): Loss of wide receivers is concerning, but others should step up against Dallas.

6. Jordan Love, Packers (QB6)

7. Breece Hall, Jets (RB1)

8. Bijan Robinson, Falcons (RB2)

9. Saquon Barkley, Eagles (RB3): I guess we can’t really complain about his low volume as a pass-catcher.

10. Derrick Henry, Ravens (RB4): He seems motivated for his second 2,000-yard rushing campaign.

11. Justin Jefferson, Vikings (WR1): Incredibly consistent and reliable, with a TD catch in all but one contest.

12. CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (WR2): More is expected as the Cowboys come off their bye to face the 49ers.

13. Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals (WR3)

14. Joe Mixon, Texans (RB5)

15. Joe Burrow, Bengals (QB7)

16. Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers (QB8): As with Purdy, let’s assume Mayfield finds someone to throw to. He has a good matchup, too.

17. Geno Smith, Seahawks (QB9): Relatively quiet in Week 7, but he still tops the NFL in passing yards. The loss of DK Metcalf shouldn’t hold the offense back.

18. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions (WR4): Has TDs in four consecutive games. The Titans are stingy in permitting PPR points to WRs.

19. Malik Nabers, Giants (WR5): Quiet vs. the Eagles, as the Giants could not protect their QB. Something to watch this week.

20. Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (WR6): His QB returns, thus the high ranking. Perhaps we are too optimistic this changes everything.

21. Kyren Williams, Rams (RB6)

22. Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks (RB7)

23. Aaron Jones, Vikings (RB8): Still dealing with a sore hamstring, but we must trust him when active.

24. Drake London, Falcons (WR7): TDs in five of the past six games, even as his QB disappoints fantasy managers.

25. Tee Higgins, Bengals (WR8): Fantasy managers can’t complain about him averaging 68 receiving yards per game.

26. A.J. Brown, Eagles (WR9): He is averaging a WR-leading 22.1 PPR points in his three games. Good luck stopping him.

27. Kyler Murray, Cardinals (QB10): Still an inconsistent rusher, but when he takes off, it is so valuable.

28. Bo Nix, Broncos (QB11): He has 136 rushing yards the past two games. It’s an elite matchup with the awful Panthers Sunday.

29. Sam Darnold, Vikings (QB12): Clearly slowing after an excellent first month, but still a matchups play.

30. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins (QB13): Welcome back, but remember, fantasy managers, he has not been a top-10 QB in the past.

31. J.K. Dobbins, Chargers (RB9)

32. Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions (RB10)

33. De’Von Achane, Dolphins (RB11)

34. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (QB14)

35. Aaron Rodgers, Jets (QB15): He has six interceptions the past three games. He didn’t throw that many in four of his final five Packers seasons.

36. Russell Wilson, Steelers (QB16): Made his coach look mighty smart for switching QBs. Coach, fantasy managers crave consistency, too.

37. Justin Herbert, Chargers (QB17): Threw for 349 yards on Monday, but desperately needs a WR or two to step up and score TDs.

38. D’Andre Swift, Bears (RB12)

39. Alvin Kamara, Saints (RB13)

40. C.J. Stroud, Texans (QB18)

41. Jared Goff, Lions (QB19)

42. Kirk Cousins, Falcons (QB20): Context matters. Cousins has one game with more than 250 passing yards. He’s on pace for the most INTs of career, too.

43. Jonathan Taylor, Colts (RB14): Great when he plays, but he last played in Week 4. The ankle injury remains an issue.

44. Kareem Hunt, Chiefs (RB15): Certainly playing like a RB1 lately. Do not presume this can’t continue into December.

45. Garrett Wilson, Jets (WR10): Take your pick with the Jets WRs, but it still comes down to Rodgers peforming better and the O-line giving him time.

46. Davante Adams, Jets (WR11)

47. Deebo Samuel Sr., 49ers (WR12)

48. Najee Harris, Steelers (RB16): Well on his way to his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season. The receptions aren’t there, though.

49. James Cook, Bills (RB17): Touchdowns in four of six games, but he’s been inefficient, and a rookie could push him.

50. Jordan Mason, 49ers (RB18): Great matchup against the Cowboys, but his run as a starter could end after this game.

51. Caleb Williams, Bears (QB21): Fantasy managers are assuming big stats against the Commanders. Can Williams shine versus good teams?

52. Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (QB22)

53. DJ Moore, Bears (WR13)

54. Jayden Reed, Packers (WR14): Likely the top Packers WR, but with this deep crew, it will be hard to produce numbers consistently.

55. Josh Jacobs, Packers (RB19): Scored the first receiving TD of his career in Week 7, but there is little indication more are coming.

56. David Montgomery, Lions (RB20): Reduced volume in Week 7, but again, no indication this continues in the future.

57. Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders (RB21)

58. Javonte Williams, Broncos (RB22)

59. James Conner, Cardinals (RB23): Dolphins are bad versus the run, so expect Conner to have another solid performance.

60. Cooper Kupp, Rams (WR15): He is expected to play on Thursday. It has been a while. His presence changes the entire offense.

61. Terry McLaurin, Commanders (WR16): His numbers hardly suffered with Daniels out of the game. Don’t overthink this one.

62. George Kittle, 49ers (TE1): Some may expect Purdy to target Kittle 15 times with WRs injured. Don’t expect that at all.

63. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (QB23): Hey, the numbers don’t lie. He is not among the top 20 QB fantasy scorers.

64. Drake Maye, Patriots (QB24): Two starts, two 20-point fantasy outings. If he wasn’t facing the Jets, he would be ranked ahead of Mahomes.

65. Anthony Richardson, Colts (QB25): Good luck. Many have given up, but we cannot deny the upside if he turns things around.

66. Tony Pollard, Titans (RB24)

67. Chuba Hubbard, Panthers (RB25)

68. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seahawks (WR17)

69. Stefon Diggs, Texans (WR18)

70. George Pickens, Steelers (WR19): Don’t want to overrate one outing, but the QB change was critical to his performance.

71. David Njoku, Browns (TE2): QB change and the Cooper trade should make Njoku very well targeted from now on.

72. Daniel Jones, Giants (QB26): Just when so many of us assumed he was productive again, he’s struggled the past two games.

73. Jameis Winston, Browns (QB27): Well, it can’t get worse. No, really, it can’t.

74. Amari Cooper, Bills (WR20)

75. Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (WR21)

76. Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins (WR22)

77. Brian Thomas Jr., Jaguars (WR23)

78. Darnell Mooney, Falcons (WR24)
