Meet the identical twin sisters who have become internet sensations due to their striking resemblance and obsession with pop star Ariana Grande.
Taylor and Mackenna, also known as Pink Sweetener, bear such a strong resemblance to each other that even their friends find it hard to tell them apart. The Canadian duo spend their days perfecting high ponytails, applying winged eyeliner, and donning outfits inspired by the superstar singer Ariana.
With a "really, really strong" bond, they enjoy spending every moment together and have amassed over 75 outfits inspired by the Wicked star, including replicas of her iconic looks and her entire perfume collection. The twins, who claim to make 25 TikToks a day, said: "Usually in public a lot of people stare – their heads kind of turn when we walk past them."
"We went from really shy and being in the background, to being confident and wanting to stand out," they revealed to YouTube's Truly TV. They chose the viral name Pink Sweetener because pink is one of their favourite colours, and Sweetener is the title of one of Ariana's albums.
The duo, who boast 86,700 followers on TikTok, express their love for the singer and actress' style and music. On TikTok, they post photos of themselves dressed like the singer and videos of them singing along to her songs, reports the Mirror.
"Wait, you look like Ariane Grande," one user commented. "The Ariana twins," another chimed in.
However, some critics have dubbed the twins, who dress identically every day, as the "great value version" of Ariana. Accusations of "identity theft" have also been thrown their way, but the duo insists they are not impersonating Ariana, but merely drawing inspiration from her style.
One user commented on Pink Sweetner's page: "This would freak me out so bad if I was Ari." Another advised: "Dude, just be yourself."
One other commented "I just can't see it." A YouTube user warned: "They'll never find who they are in life if they pretend to be someone else."
Despite being the target of online hate, the twins remain undeterred. "Negative comments don't phase us," they declared.
Recently, the pair swapped Ariana's signature ponytail for blonde wigs after the star dyed her hair for her role as Glinda in the Wicked films.
