In response to JD Vance’s bizarre Nelk Boys interview, DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement:
“If there’s one thing JD Vance is going to do, it’s full send being the weirdest, creepiest, and most unpopular running mate Donald Trump could have ever hoped for.”
Here are some of JD Vance’s most bizarre comments from the interview:
Vance denied that Donald Trump called white supremacists “very fine people” after the deadly neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville.
Vance: “[Trump] never said there were very good people on both sides. What he said is that some of the protesters were good people, not like the white supremacists who murdered this girl… he’s not the scary person the media makes him out to be.”
Trump on Charlottesville (2017): “You also had people that were very fine people on both sides.”
Vance said he was asked in vetting if he had a secret family — and wouldn’t tell his wife if he did.
Vance: “Oh, by the way, if I did [have a secret family], I’m not going to admit it in front of my wife right now.”
Vance even revealed he runs his own X account (we can tell).
Vance: “Most politicians, they have a staff member that runs their Twitter. I don’t do that… I just put whatever I want to on X.”
It’s no wonder that the more the American people (and Trump himself) see Vance, the more they dislike him.
Harris Faulker, Fox News: “When you look at JD Vance, is he ready on day one?”
Trump: “Is he what?”
Faulkner: “Ready on day one if he has to be?”
Trump: “I’ve always had great respect for him. And for the other candidates too. But I will say this, and I think this is well-documented: historically, the vice president in terms of the election does not have any impact, I mean virtually no impact.”
