A Sasquatch search that turned tragic, an odd UFO filmed in Turkey, and a high school rivalry that culminated with a poisoned show goat were among the weird and wondrous stories to cross our desk this past week.
Two peculiar videos caught our attention this past week, beginning with a remarkable UFO sighting filmed in Turkey. Spotted from a freeway in the country, the curious anomaly at the center of the footage was a mysterious multi-colored object that hovered in the night sky to the astonishment of the witnesses who caught sight of the oddity. Similarly strange was a video shot by an airline passenger wherein what appeared to be two people could be seen seemingly standing atop a layer of clouds. The footage, which quickly went viral on social media, spawned all manner of theories as to the nature of the perceived figures with some suggesting that they were otherworldly, while others argued that the ‘beings’ were merely a case of pareidolia in action.

This past week featured a pair of bizarre busts involving animals that wound up having decidedly different fates. First, in Texas, a teenage girl was arrested for allegedly poisoning her high school rival’s show goat. When questioned by police as to what sparked the strange scheme that led to the animal’s death, the young woman accused her enemy of cheating in the highly competitive world of livestock exhibition. Meanwhile, in California, cops conducting a routine traffic stop were taken aback when they discovered that the driver was cruising around with a baby spider monkey in his lap. The adorable creature was subsequently seized by police as it is illegal to own the endangered animal in the state.

A particularly tragic story involving Bigfoot made headlines this past week when it was revealed that two men had recently died while searching for Sasquatch. The unfortunate case came to light when the duo did not return home for Christmas festivities, which prompted an exhaustive search involving over 60 volunteers who scoured Gifford Pinchot National Forest looking for the pair. Sadly, the bodies of the two unnamed men were eventually found after three days with authorities indicating that, due to being ill-prepared for the elements, the Sasquatch seekers had likely died from exposure.
