California wildfires mystery as TV cameras capture 'drones' in skies – Daily Express US
Wildfires are rampaging through southern California, forcing the evacuation of thousands near Los Angeles’ affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood. The death toll has climbed to at least five, and 30,000 people have been forced from their homes as the blaze’s footprint continues to grow at an alarming rate.
Eyewitness accounts from the inferno have now bizarrely reported sightings of what appear to be “drones” or other unexplained aerial phenomena flitting through the flames.
A clip from local news channel KTLA 5, showing the smoke-blanketed fire zone overlaid with a road map of the area also featured what apepared to be a fast-moving white ‘orb’ shooting across the lower half of the screen. It prompted speculation that the notorious New Jersey drones had shifted to California.
Other video shared across social networks shows luminous entities cutting through the flames at incredible speeds. And another sequence reveals what looks like a large glowing “mothership” surrounded by smoke.
Some commenters have theorised these strange sightings could be explained by natural atmospheric phenomena that have been triggered by the intense heat. Others have suggested that people are just seeing Fire Department drones.

However, Chilean outlet Ovniologica published readers’ theories of hostile drones prowling the skies above Los Angeles. One commenter on Twitter pointed out: “With 85mph winds it could be anything including pieces of flying burning debris, birds, bats, or swarms of insects,” before adding”It’s odd-looking though…”
Local news outlet Cal Wire shared two videos of the mysterious intruders, captioned “strange fast-moving objects seen over SoCal fires”. The post read: “People online are observing strange projectiles coming in and out of the #SoCal fires on live TV. ” They further questioned: “Missile?, Firework? UFO? Arson? Are we under attack?”
Even without an external threat, the situation for locals is dire.
Authorities have stated there is “no possibility” of containing the fires anytime soon, leaving residents unsure of where to seek refuge as the flames inch closer to their homes.
One resident from Topanga Canyon told the Mirror: “Our area was evacuated. The fires are apocalyptic, catastrophic..”
