'Don't try this at home': Eagles' Quinyon Mitchell jokingly celebrates pick with Triple H finisher

The Philadelphia Eagles22-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC wild-card round Sunday included four forced turnovers — and one failed celebration.

As the Packers looked to cut into the deficit with two minutes left in the game, quarterback Jordan Love took a deep shot at the end zone for wide receiver Bo Melton. Eagles rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell undercut the ball to snag it for Love’s third interception of the game.

It also marked Mitchell’s first NFL interception, and he celebrated in style — sort of.

Mitchell ran off and jokingly used former WWE superstar and current chief content officer Triple H’s finishing move, the Pedigree, on fellow Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean. Except DeJean fell too early, hindering the move’s timing.

Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, reacted to the move on X, writing in a post: “There’s a reason we say ‘Don’t try this at home’…congrats on the win Quinyon & @Eagles!”

Levesque’s finisher included putting the opponent’s head between his knees, hooking the arms behind the opponent’s back, jumping up and bringing the foe down full body, face-first onto the mat. It became the trademark move of Levesque’s career as a 14-time world champion.

Mitchell had six tackles in the game, tied for a career high. Philadelphia will host a divisional round game next weekend.
