Patrick Mahomes 'weird' snub of Kansas City Chiefs teammate doesn't go unnoticed – The Mirror US

In arguably the most important game of his career, with the opportunity to secure an unprecedented three-peat, Patrick Mahomes produced arguably the worst performance of his career.
Sunday night saw the Philadelphia Eagles hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy after they bludgeoned the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to win Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles were comfortably a class above the Chiefs, who at one point trailed 40-6 in the Superdome.
Mahomes was under duress from the first snap he took, hurried, pressured and sacked by an Eagles defensive line that dominated the Chiefs offensive line.
In what could have been the game the Chiefs became the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three back-to-back titles, they found their dreams quickly sent spiralling into a nightmare. Despite the frustrations, Mahomes did not show any outpouring of emotion on the sidelines.
However, some fans on social media did manage to spot Mahomes failing to embrace running back Samaje Perine on the sidelines after the crushing defeat – despite doing so to Travis Kelce, Juju Smith-Schuster, Isiah Pacheco and Hollywood Brown.
"Damn Pat show some love to 34 damn," wrote one fan on X after seeing the footage. A second said: "Poor Perine." A third commented: "What happened to Perine?"
A fourth said: "Did Perine dirty ugh." And a fifth commented: "34 got left hanging like that?"

Speaking after the defeat to the Eagles, a pensive Mahomes said: ""There's no way around it. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it's the worst thing in the world… it will stick with you the rest of your career.
"I mean these will be the two losses that will motivate me to be even better, for the rest of my career. Because you only get so few of these [Super Bowls], and you have to capitalize on them."
Mahomes added: "The turnovers hurt… I take all the blame for that. Those turnovers swing the moment of the game and they capitalized on them.
"They scored on one and got a touchdown immediately after another. That's 14 points I gave them. It's hard to come back from that in the Super Bowl. I have to learn from that and try to be better the next opportunity that I hopefully get."
