A psychic believes mysterious orbs or dots you sometimes see on your technology could be connecting you to lost loved ones on the "other side".
Anne Jirsch, from Maidenhead in Berkshire, says technology is rapidly changing our communication with the afterlife. Where we once might take to mediums or even an ouija board for connection, now lost loved ones are much closer.
She spoke of how one of her clients reported strange voices on her two-year-old daughter’s intercom with their reasoning behind it likely to give you chills.
“When the young mum looked on the monitor she said she froze," explained the 63-year-old.
"Three red specks were flickering on the screen, hovering around her toddler’s cot. I suggested she check the baby monitor first to make sure it wasn’t faulty.
"But at her next visit, ashen-faced, the mum said she was convinced her child was being haunted," reports the Mirror.
“I taught the mother how to put a protective bubble of light around herself, her baby and her home,” Anne said. “This involved the mother standing in her child’s bedroom, imagining roots going into the earth, then seeing a shield of brilliant white light around the house with no gaps.
"I also suggested the mother put up this shield on a daily basis. After her first use of this psychic protection, the night visitations stopped.”
Intrigued by the mother’s experience, Anne did some digging on social media to see if other parents were having similar paranormal encounters.
She was surprised by the findings and went on to include a chapter called ‘Ghosts in the Machine’ in her book Signposts.
“Through my research, I discovered people were seeing human-like shapes, orbs and dots on their child’s monitors. Chillingly, other parents reported hearing voices on their baby intercoms calling out their children’s names."
And she said it's not just baby monitors but extends to smartphones too. “I found other stories on social media, and heard from my own clients too, about paranormal contact via digital cameras, mobile phones and laptops.”
Anne believes that when someone dies their energy lives on outside their body, calling this energy an electro-magnetic. “Modern technology gives off an electro-magnetic field or EMF," she said.
"I believe that somehow spirits are able to tap into this EMF energy and utilise it to make contact.
“In my gran’s day, before the digital era, spirits let us know they were around by flickering lights. Now, modern technology gives the spirit world a whole host of new ways to make contact.
"Who would have thought the afterlife would move with the times,” adds Anne. “But it’s happening, so maybe the next time you receive a blank text take note.”
