Trump: The Musical is on the way – and it will be "great," according to Sir Tim Rice.
Britain’s top lyricist – who wrote Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita – predicted the adventures of US President Donald would pack in theatre crowds.
Rice, 80, said Trump was so "volatile" and "unpredictable" the show would have fans on the edges of their seats with "no idea of what’s going to happen."
In two months since he took office for the second time the pres has started a string of trade wars and threatened to invade Greenland and turn Canada into the 51st US state.
He has booted Ukraine president Volodomyr Zelenskyy out of the White House, cosied up to Russian despot Vladimir Putin and withdrawn US military support for Europe.
And – together with billionaire "first buddy" Elon Musk – he has announced plans to conquer Mars.
Rice, who also co-wrote The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Chess, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, reckons Trump’s antics could be turned into hit tunes – partly because his name rhymes with so many other words.
"Donald Trump would make a great musical I think,’’ he said.
"Maybe not now but in 50 years’ time.
"He’s so volatile and so unpredictable.
"You have no idea of what’s going to happen – whether he’ll even last the course.
"Trump has a few rhymes as well.
"Bump and stump and rump.’’
Tim said he did not think a musical about Brit PM Keir Starmer would have the same hit potential.
He said: "I don’t think a musical about Keir Starmer would pack them in, although Starmer rhymes with a few words – harmer, alarmer. `I don’t wish to alarm her’. Keir Starmer, farmer.'
"I think you want a larger-than-life character and in a way Keir Starmer, for a Prime Minister, seems to be not larger than life.
"I definitely wish he’d be more dynamic.’’
