Woman left furious by neighbor's note 'banning' her from raunchy activity after 10pm – The Mirror US
A woman was left shocked after her neighbor 'banned' her from having sex past 10pm, labeling it 'rude and inappropriate'.
Living in an apartment with notably thin walls, the woman claims she has always been considerate of her neighbors.
But despite keeping the volume down on her music, her nocturnal activities have irked one neighbor enough to prompt a written complaint.
The woman took to Reddit to share the note she found in the apartment hallway, captioning it simply: "Found in an apartment hallway."
The note stated: "Hey! It's your neighbour. I didn't want to have to write this but it's really bothering me now.
"I don't have a problem with you two having sex loud but I do have a problem with the timing. Late at night is inappropriate on a school night when people are trying to study and sleep.
"I apologise if my boyfriend and I have been loud but it is never on school nights because he is long distance. And again, I really don't care how loud you are as long as it's not at 10pm/11pm/12am and so on.
"It is keeping me from sleeping and studying before bed. So please keep it down during the week. You can scream as loud as you want on the weekends when people aren't trying to actually get things done.
"Again, I apologise if I have ever caused a disturbance. If you need to talk to me, obviously you know where I live. Thanks, your neighbour."
While the majority of users found the letter amusing, some shared their own experiences with nocturnal neighbors. One user shared: "My upstairs neighbor does CrossFit workouts at midnight.
"I'm pretty sure he's a medical resident so I don't say anything and just deal with it but it's not ideal." Another chimed in: "Having sex at 10 on a school night?! Absolutely scandalous!"
A third user commented: "Omg I laughed so hard at this! As a downstairs neighbour in San Diego since July 2022 who has had four very different long term tenant upstairs neighbours and a series of Airbnbers it's a whole journey of furniture movers, stompers, and playing fetch with the dog inside with assorted toys including a honking chicken dog toy!".
Another user added: "This is a very legitimate complaint, and the neighbour should try to be quieter at night? It would be the same if they were playing loud music."
One final user remarked: "As someone who works on schoolwork at home on weekends, what? I've never heard someone call the weekend a time where nobody is trying to get anything done."
