Grisly moment TikToker finds decomposed body missing an arm in hoarder house bought at auction – The Mirror US
A home buyer at an auction made a gruesome discovery after purchasing a house only to find a dead body inside.
According to reports real estate investor and TikToker @mattyice0296 had been documenting the clean-up process of a house he bought at auction.
The investor was used to dealing with properties that have been occupied by hoarders – and this property looked as though it had been lived in by one judging by the junk piled up – but he had never come across a dead body before.
"So this is my house I bought on Friday at auction," he began in a video posted March 14. "We just started to clean it out and found something I've never found before at a house," he said as the camera panned to a body amidst piles of junk. "This is freaking wild. Guess I gotta call the police now."
LA Times reports the TikToker seemed to take the situation in his stride as he rang the authorities. The police, fire department, and coroner's office turned up at the scene to recover the human remains. The homeowner was asked to pause his clean-up while the investigation continued.
"The detective asked that we not enter the house. We boarded it back up," he said. In an even more disturbing turn of events – the coroner reported that one of the body's arms was missing. But this was believed to have been due to the actions of an animal.
On Monday, an update from the new home owner's TikTok account revealed that the coroner identified the remains as belonging to a friend of the former homeowner. It was suspected that this person may have been a romantic partner—although the coroner did not reveal further details of their relationship.
In a rare move for property developers, the neighbors of the property were grateful to the latest owner for buying the home. Several nearby residents had reported the house to the city after complaining about the smell. It reportedly got so bad that some neigbors even left their windows up for long periods of time. The new buyer is busy transforming the house into a liveable condition so that it can be used in the future as a residence.
