Hillsdale County girl sets world record for largest feet for her age – The Hillsdale Daily News

JONESVILLE — Kids World Records recently presented Ruby Labuschewsky with the world record for “The Largest Foot” for her age category.
Ruby, who is in fourth grade and from Jonesville, won the girls’ 7- to 9-year-old category.
Ruby’s mom, Hanna Labuschewsky, said Ruby plans to submit for another world record because she is now in the 10-year-old category.
“With her just turning 10 years old and now wearing a size 11 women’s shoe, we are looking to re-submit for another record!” she said.
Ruby said she was excited to find out about the award, but that big feet run in the family.
“My mom did a lot of research before and my mom wears a size 11 and my dad a size 13,” Ruby said.
With Ruby’s feet measuring 10.5 inches, Hanna said Ruby has faced some teasing, just as she did at her age.
“With Ruby’s feet being rather large, she has been made fun of. As a mother, it hurts to see your kid hurt as you were as a kid,” Hanna said.
This was part of why Hanna decided to begin researching the world record.
“I thought, ‘How can I make her comfortable and how can I make her not care about the size of her feet or care what others think of the size of her feet,’” she said. “Let me tell you, she is now bragging about the size of her foot!”
Hanna said that it was a process to determine that Ruby would receive the record.
“I thought we would look up and see if there was a record set for 9-year-old girls’ shoe size,” Hanna said. “They required several different angles with a tape measure.”

Ruby said her friends were excited to hear about the award.
“My friends are surprised and still love me the same,” she said.
She said the most exciting part has been “knowing I will keep growing and maybe have bigger feet than my brother!”
