How Taylor Swift Feels About Being Single Post-Joe Alwyn Split: She’s Not ‘Thinking About’ Seriously Dating
Taylor Swift has made it clear to fans that she’s doing fine post-Joe Alwyn breakup, and a source confirmed to Us Weekly yesterday that the photographed outings of her enjoying time with friends in New York City aren’t a front. Swift really is “doing great” after her split, and she isn’t about to try and enter into another serious relationship.
The source opened up about Swift’s feelings on dating, saying, “Taylor is handling the breakup really well and she’s feeling very optimistic about her future. She truly believes whatever is meant to be, will be, and knows everything happens for a reason.”
The source added that Swift is “enjoying her freedom,” and is “adjusting to the single life” after spending six years dating Alwyn.
The single girl era isn’t ending imminently either, the source said: “She isn’t dating anybody and isn’t even thinking about getting into another relationship anytime soon.”
Swift was photographed on Thursday night with Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and all three Haim sisters having a squad outing at Zero Bond in New York City, her first big public friend outing in years. Swift’s Eras tour continues tonight in Houston, Texas; she’ll be playing there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Swift herself hasn’t spoken explicitly about the breakup onstage, but she has made comments that allude to it, including telling fans during her first show after the news broke, “So we have a lot to catch up on, don’t we?”
Swift privately broke up with Alwyn in March; the news broke on April 8.
A source told People that, behind the scenes, Alwyn and Swift had been one and off at points during their six-year relationship. “They’ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together,” People’s source said in a report published on April 10. “Ultimately, [they] weren’t the right fit for one another.”
